Surf Boats Built For The Perfect Wave

Experience the finest luxury surf boats designed for Australian waters.

If you’ve ever watched a wakesurfer carve behind a properly set-up boat, you already know the feeling we’re talking about. Endless wave, no rope, no engine noise in your ear. The right surf boat makes that possible. The wrong one makes it hard work.

At Cobalt Australia, we sell surf boats for people who take their wakesurfing seriously – whether that’s serious about chasing a clean wave at sunrise or serious about getting the kids up for their first ride before lunch. Our Surf Class range is built around wave shape, ride quality and the kind of finish you’d expect from a yacht, not a weekend runabout.

What you can expect from a Cobalt wake surf boat:

    • Yacht-certified construction across the premium models with hand-laid fibreglass and marine-grade materials throughout
    • Surf-specific hull and ballast systems engineered to throw a clean, surfable wave on either side
    • Personalisation down to upholstery, sound system, tower setup and finish
    • Local support from our Arundel showroom on the Gold Coast and our NSW dealership

    The Cobalt Surf Class range

The whole class is designed from the keel up for surf. Each model uses a hull shape, ballast distribution and wave-shaping system tuned to push a clean, sized-up wave that holds its form metres behind the transom.

What makes a good surf boat?

Plenty of brands will sell you something called a “surf boat.” Not all of them throw a wave worth riding. Here’s where Cobalt is doing something different.

Hull design:  A surfable wave comes from how the hull sits in the water at surf speed, not from gadgets added later. Cobalt’s Surf Class hulls are shaped to settle deep, push water cleanly and produce a wave with a defined pocket – the part you actually surf.

Ballast – Every Surf Class boat carries integrated ballast tanks that fill, shift and empty on demand. More weight on the surf side, less on the other – that’s how you get a clean, sized wave on either tack. The bigger models carry serious ballast capacity, which is where the longer, taller waves come from.

Wave-shaping system – Trim plates on either side of the transom let the driver shape the wave for the rider on the rope. Beginners get a softer, mellower face. Advanced surfers get a steeper pocket with more push. Switch sides, switch riders, switch shape – all from the helm.

Build quality – Hand-laid fibreglass, stainless fittings, marine-grade vinyls. The premium Surf Class models carry yacht certification, which is a meaningful standard – it means the boat has been built and tested to the same construction rules as a proper offshore vessel.

    How to personalise yours

No two buyers want the same boat, so we don’t pretend they do. Through Cobalt’s personalisation programme, you can specify:

    • Gelcoat colour and graphics package
    • Upholstery colour, material and stitching
    • Tower style and finish
    • Audio system, lighting and helm electronics
    • Optional equipment – heaters, fridges, swim platforms, ski lockers

Tell us how you’ll use the boat and who’ll be on it and we’ll help you spec accordingly. There’s no point paying for features you’ll never touch and no sense skipping the ones that will make every weekend better.

    Finance, trade-in and ongoing support

A premium surf boat is a real investment. We work with marine finance specialists to put together terms that make sense for your situation, including longer-term structures for the larger Surf Class models. If you already own a boat, bring it in – we’ll appraise it for trade and apply the value against your new Cobalt.

After purchase, you’re not on your own. We handle servicing, warranty work, accessories and upgrades from our Arundel facility and we can coordinate support through our NSW dealership for buyers based further south.

Want to see the full range?

The best way to choose a surf boat is to stand next to one, sit in the cockpit and ideally get behind it on the water. Our Gold Coast showroom carries the current Surf Class lineup and water demonstrations can be arranged by appointment.
